December 5, 2007Bad Titles for Children’s Books
December 6, 2007I have a TBR (to-be-read) pile of books that is literally hundreds deep. Still, I buy more books. I am so afraid that a book I want dearly will be pulled from publication or something before I get a chance to read it, so I need to have it on my bookshelf now waiting for me. Well, that, and the fact that I am a mood reader who likes to have a selection of different types of books on hand to choose from when I need a new read.
It also doesn’t help that we have this fabulous store in Nashville called The Book Gallery. They sell new books, never used, but they sell them at half off the cover price. I love this, because it doesn’t adversely affect the royalties authors get, like used books do (would you believe there are those who don’t realize that buying used books hurts an author’s income?) But, I can buy more books because of the discounted prices! They don’t have new releases, but they do sometimes get a book that is within a year of its release date. I got to stop by again today on my lunch hour, only to find they’ve got tons of new books since I last went 2 weeks ago and I found several I had to have! LOL
I walked away with these:
- Diane Whiteside – “The Hunter’s Prey”
- Julie Kenner, Kathleen O’Reilly, Dee Davis – “Hell on Heels”
- Karin Tabke – “Skin”
- Thea Devine – “His Little Black Book”
- Julia Templeton – “The Bargain”
Oh, and a great friend gave me on from my Amazon wishlist yesterday: Donna Kauffman – “The Black Sheep and the Princess”.
Now to just find time to read everything… One of these days, I am going to take a week’s vacation and stay in town, just lolling and doing whatever I want – like binge-reading! One of these days…
