June 20, 2014I love Longhorn’s food – especially their steaks. When they do it right, it is hard to beat their steaks.
This particular location, however, does not know how to cook a steak. For the last 2 years, every time my uncle and I try to eat at this one, my steak is cooked wrong. I order medium rare, which should have a warm red center. It is often brought to me medium-well or worse.
When I send it back, you would expect them to expedite the replacement. Instead, it takes them anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes to bring it out. It does not take that long to cook a medium rare steak – not a ribeye or a filet mignon, which are the cuts I always choose.
No matter what I order or how I order it, this location always brings my food wrong. I don’t mind paying their prices for a steak – but only if the food is correct. By the time I finally get my meal, my uncle is finished with his dinner. If I wanted to eat alone, I’d stay at home.
I’ve submitted complaints to the corporate office and the internal management, who always seem sympathetic, but in several years they still haven’t been able to teach their kitchen staff how to cook steaks right. I don’t want a free meal – I want to pay for a meal done right the first time – at least on most occasions. Every company makes a mistake occasionally, but this store gets my order wrong every time.
