My Literature
**More content coming to this page soon...**
Music might be my passion, but reading has been my obsession every since I was a little girl. I don't remember who taught me to read, but I knew how before I ever started school, and books have always been my great love. As a kid, I discovered Mystery, and devoured every Agatha Christie and Trixie Belden novel I could get my hands on. Then I became fascinated with mythology - primarily Greek, Roman, and Norse when I was in Elementary school, but as an adult I developed a love for Celtic mythology as well. Over the years, my favorite genres has grown as I ran out of books to read, but my favorites have always been Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Mythology. I never read Romance until around 2002, but started enjoying that genre when I realized it included many of those other genres too.
As a child, I was lucky enough to live so close to the city library that I could walk or ride my bicycle there, and I visited a couple of times a week. It wasn't unusual for me to have the maximum number of books allowed checked out at both the city library and my school library, but I read so fast, I'd usually turn them all in the same week I checked them out. When I ran out of fiction novels, I'd turn to the family's encyclopedia collection - especially the set that was all about nature. Sometimes I'd even read the dictionary when there was nothing else to read.
I first learned about the existence of ebooks in 2000, long before Kindle was even a glimmer in Amazon's eye, and the ease of quickly downloading new books anytime I needed them helped satiate my literary gluttony as far as my budget would allow. Back then, ebooks were sold at sites like Fictionwise, or directly at the ebook publishers' sites. Then I joined a book review site, and it helped supplement my book budget by providing me with free books - I just needed to review them, which I did for years until my schedule became too busy to allow the time.
